1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Repair on the Stageshop Workbench

1957 Gibson Les Paul Goldtop Repair on the Stageshop Workbench.

New professional milestone reached my workbench. Given its condition, this magical instrument could easily lie about its age. Filled with beautiful details, it sports a black pickguard, pickup rings and backplate. Only 50 of these guitars were ever made.

Short History of the Gibson Les Paul:

The first Gibson Les Paul electric guitar was made in 1952. The first series ran until 1960 when the model was replaced by the instrument we know today as the SG. This version, with the golden finish, was made until 1958 and went down in history as the Goldtop. Gibson relaunched the Les Paul in 1969 and it has been in production ever since. Today, the custom shop produces the 1957 Goldtop VOS (Vintage Old Stock) faithful to its original vintage specifications as seen here.
