Atkin J19 The Nineteen acoustic guitar with Sunburst aged finish. Atkin Guitars was founded in Canterbury, England, in 1995. Still in Canterbury, they build around 350 guitars a year, each one still handmade. This small body slope shoulder guitar is a new addition to the Atkin range. Released in 2019, this model carries the year as it’s name. ‘The Nineteen’ is the result of a collaboration between Alister Atkin and Rudi Bults of the Fellowship of Acoustics in The Netherlands. The body width is 15″ across the bottom bout and the depth is 4 7/8″. With a 632mm scale length the Nineteen feels more like a OOO than a J. This guitar has a rich, warm tone perfect for accompanying a singer. The J19 Nineteen has built with Baked solid Sitka spruce top and solid mahogany back and sides. Baked top ensures that the top is exposed to heat and pressure, so that it has already lost much of its moisture to this treatment. The result is a guitar with a played in character like an older vintage acoustic guitar. Neck is mahogany with bone nut and saddle. It has Santos Rosewood fingerboard and bridge, High Gloss Aged finish, nickel Kluson tuners. It comes with Atkin hardcase.
