Product Overview
Josef Obrecht historic parlor acoustic guitar
This guitar was probably made in the 1930s by Viennese instrument maker Josef Obrecht. Josef Obrecht studied in Ludwig Reisinger's workshop in Vienna and notes of this can also be seen on this guitar. These include the design of the bridge and the pattern of the rosette. Reisinger Ignaz studied in the workshop of Johann Bucher, a student of Johann Georg Staufer with whom C.F. Martin also studied guitar building before emigrating to the US.
Guitar condition and repairs made
The condition of the guitar is excellent, it was completely restored in our workshop by master luthier Zoltán Tóth. The guitar got brand new nickel-silver frets, nut and saddles made of compensated bone were added, and the tuning keys also underwent complete cleaning and maintenance. Cracks in the body of the guitar have been repaired in several places and the separated braces have been glued back. So now this guitar is a full-fledged and easy-to-play, nearly hundred-year-old guitar with accurate intonation at a really good price.
What do you get when you buy this guitar
We consider it important to emphasize that the guitar is not only a collection value, but also a fully usable studio guitar that is absolutely suitable for even older style guitar music recordings.
