The Waterloo WL-14 Scissortail ia an X-braced Waterloo by Collings guitar. Drawing its name from the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher - a bird species common to the Central Texas Hill Country - the WL-14 Scissortail is a special edition WL-14 that pays homage to the "Oriole" guitars produced by Kalamazoo between 1940 and 1942. Built with maple back and sides and vintage-inspired X-bracing, the Scissortail brings excellent projection and focus to the flagship WL-14 series while retaining its woody, characteristic tone. A natural finish coupled with distinctive tortoise-style binding sets this instrument apart from other WL-14 models, along with an original Scissortail decal applied to the headstock in true-to-era fashion.. It has 1 3/4" nut width, 2 3/8" (vintage!) saddle spacing, bone drop-in saddle, ebony nut. WL-14 Scissortail has a T-bar in the neck.
