SoundTransformer Instrument Cable
SoundTransformer Technology Guitar Cables
In sound tech, efficiency of the components determine sound quality. One of the most important components in the signal chain is the cable. The efficiency of SoundTransformer technology cables significantly outshine other technologies.
What do you win with SoundTransformer and what do you lose without it.
The most important part of the guitar sound, containing the most information is the transient generated at the moment of picking. These transients contain the information specific to the instrument, playing style making every sound unique and interesting. The goal is to transfer this information pack from the instrument to the amp with minimal loss. Everyone is familiar with the phenomenon when you run a 3 meter cable from your guitar, and then (maybe because of an added pedal) connect another 3 meters to it using another cable and immediately you hear a difference in sound quality. With the longer cable, we hear less highs (harmonics) and the lows get muddy. With SoundTransformer cables, there is absolutely no difference between even a 5 meter, and a doubled up 10 meter cable. Does this sound unbelieavble to you? Well, come down to Stageshop and you can listen to it with your own ears. So far, we received the following reactions from the people who tried it: “this is louder”, “very responsive”, “more lows”, “every note is more complex”, and “there is no distortion at the top”, and etc.
In sum, SoundTransformer cables transfer more sonic information faster from the source (the guitar jack) to the receiver (the guitar amp), than any guitar cable produced with more traditional technologies. Surely you also agree that for your amp (or any other receiver) it matters what kind of signal complexity it receives for processing? In digital effects, one of the most relevant components is the AD/DA (analog-digital/digital-analog) converter’s quality. If the AD input converter receives a more detailed transient signal, then it converts the analog signal to digital using more information giving us a more detailed (higher resolution) sound that the effect transforms and converts back to analog audio signal. This results in better sound quality.
Every cable, to some extent, functions as a transformer. The SoundTransformer guitar cable is also a transformer. But there are good and bad transformers. A bad transformer we should imagine as a person with low psychological tolerance. If we give this person too many tasks, they fall out of their comfort zones, become hysterical and generate “their own signals”. SoundTransformer cables achieved zero remanence, no hysteria and the do not add unwanted noise or distortions.
Better quality instruments need better quality signal transfer
Better quality guitar electronics are more rich in harmonic information that need to be transferred through the cable to the amplifier. Why do we get clearer low end response when we compare an acoustic guitar made from better quality woods with a lower end model? Because, even in the low end, a better quality instruments produce more harmonic response generating more detailed information in their transients. This creates more unique, more identifiable and more understandable sounds. If you have a higher quality electric or electric acoustic guitar, definitely give SoundTransformer cables a try. Bring your own favorite cable to listen to for the real audible difference.
SoundTransformer Silver and Gold guitar cables.
The principles of the technology is the same, but the Gold can transfer even more information with a speedier response curve. What the technological differences are between the Silver and Gold cables, we never found out from the SoundTransformer tech team. But during each test, it is worth trying the Silver cable before moving on to the Gold one, and then listen to our original favorite cable again. If the higher quality Gold cable was able to produce an audible improvement versus the Silver cable, that is evidence that the instrument itself, produces a lot of extra sonic details definitely unhandled by the original cable.
SoundTransformer cables are NOT directional. Hence, it matters not which end you plug into the guitar and which you connect to the amp (like it is so common with top quality cables today making musicians’ and technicians’ lives just that much more complicated.) The SoundTransformer cable includes Limited Lifetime warranty.
