The base plate is made of hardened steel, the string saddles are made of sheet steel. The lever is inserted and can be adjusted with a small allen screw at the side of the tremolo block. In addition to its lighter weight, the aluminium block offers a rich and "airy" tone and a more percussive attack compared to a steel block.
